What is New Start?

The award-winning New Start magazine is the first choice weekly news magazine in the UK for all involved in community regeneration. It was first published on 5 February 1999. It exists to provide news, comment and analysis for all concerned with regeneration, physical, economic and social, and to stimulate debate and discussion of policy.

New Start is totally independent, both editorially and commercially. Its founding directors, Kath Acres, Julian Dobson and Jamie Veitch, have a long track record in journalism and publishing. As well as providing up-to-the-minute editorial content, New Start is a prime source of job opportunities in regeneration through its recruitment advertising pages.
